Patreon charge up-front payment change
Added 2018-08-02 15:39:32 +0000 UTCHello all! Patreon has finally rolled out (to everyone) a payment system that provides creators with a little bit of protection. We'll be opting into this system and want to provide some information on how it affects patrons.
If you've been a patron for more than a month, you should not notice anything different!
New patrons will be charged as soon as they pledge, then charges will go back to happening at the beginning of the month.
For example: You pledge to a creator on February 25. You'll be charged immediately and have access to all the content of that tier. Your next charge will happen on March 1 or 2, and all subsequent charges will be at the beginning of the month.
Increasing pledges mid-month will result in a charge of the difference in pledges, and decreasing pledges will simply have the decreased charge at the beginning of the next month.
