Added 2020-09-09 16:51:01 +0000 UTCSo after doing some brainstorming of Halloween-y things I decided that I wanted to do a cat flying on a broomstick for September’s pin!
I had rather sneakily already designed a broomstick in the past which I’ve never used, so started straight away on the cat by doing a rough sketch:
I was pretty happy with the overall shape but the face was a bit TOO dorky, if you know what I mean…! I traced over it in Inkscape and spent a bit of time sorting out the face to make it look a bit more correct :)
This is the aforementioned broomstick I had lined up for the design:
I then started playing around with different cloud shapes (the second one was the final choice!)
Next I played with various colour options… A lot of colour options!! The red did stick out but for some reason it didn’t say ‘Halloween’ to me quite as much as the purple and/or green options:
I took my top 3 choices to the vote, with the options being Purple, Pastel and Purple/Green:
And the Purple option was the winner!
