How about you try to make buildy video's with pure ranger using Conjure Animals and Conjure Woodland beings?

2025-01-27 14:34:22 +0000 UTCI think Ranger 8 / Druid 12 may work out better. Ranger 5 -> Druid 8 -> Ranger 3 -> Druid 4. You do get the WIS saves and 5 ASIs. But lose the level 14 sea Druid feature and level 9 spell slots.

2025-01-27 14:01:09 +0000 UTCThanks for the video. I think Ranger looks really good until level 9/10 Looking at the Beastmaster it raises 2 questions. You can command the beast with your BA. The rule says you can “also” command it to attack by sacrificing an attack that is part of the attack action. So here are the questions: 1) could I do both in the same turn? The rule suggests it’s permissive, but I’m not sure about any general limits to numbers of actions. 2) could I sacrifice the extra attack from a nick weapon to command the beast? I don’t see why not. It’s an attack that’s part of the attack action. In which case I would suggest going Wis based ranger with Shillelagh Club and Dagger, but the dagger just triggers your beast, and you can either use your BA to trigger the beast again, or if that doesn’t work then you have a free BA for something else.

2025-01-26 19:32:38 +0000 UTCI've been experiming with the ranger in actually play. And I gotta say your numbers are really off. I understand you went defensive duelist instead of dual welder becuase concern with the bonus action. I can confirm from playing and watching the ranger in action there is so little bonus action conflict. In a 4 round combat you are getting that bonus action attack twice. I've also have seen prioritizing wisdom over dexafter level 4 when you take the dual welder feat helps out. Also I forgot if you calculated the fey wanderer upcasting summon fey at 13. I feel like there should be a bigger bump there. Though you are calculating 4 combats and the set up round does hurt the number a bit.
