PAM is definitely not a must-have anymore and fighter is a prime example of that, it works best when using spells or features that boost damage on all your attacks, like Divine Favour, Spirit Shroud, fount of moonlight, rage, etc. Counter-intuitively Paladin or Warlock maybe Valour bard are probably PAM best use cases.

I agree but I wonder if this is what keeps subscriber count down. Many people don't like to hear that they are wrong.

And you can use a Lance and Shield when mounted so you have a higher AC.

Perhaps a video between a PAM paladin vs the TWF paladin you presented utilizing divine favor/hunter's mark could be neat... does damage from great weapon master and graze compete with dual wielding and the nick property

One other synergy that doesn't work because of the new wording of PAM is Sentinel. The ability to get attacks of opportunity when enemies enter your reach and stop them in their tracks had real value for defending your allies, even when only used against minions. Not a damage-adding feature but a relevant use in 2014 that we can't do now. Rest of the analysis is great, bummer for early modern warfare polearm stans like me.

I think PAM might be luxury pick now at higher levels
And as Robert points out... I don't think you can pass on Mage Slayer at all. It's legendary resistance every short rest

What about the Lance though? It qualifies for PAM and when mounted the +2 from dueling can be applied. It makes up for the DPR lost going from 2d6 to d10 and it adds to the bonus action attack. It loses graze but generates advantage through topple. It should be fairly easy to have a medium mount that can go through dungeons due to the relaxed heavy weapon rules for small species. I think it is worth considering for Beastmasters, Paladins or anyone that can keep the mount alive

Graze does work with the bonus action attack
And it is the biggest saving grace for PAM
Chris accounted for it in the math

Agreed!
I have done a lot of math on the differences and sadly haven’t found a good reason to use it on any builds like before where it was a must especially on Paladin with QS or Spear but now you can’t Smite possibly 3 times on a single round on the BBEG
And since you can’t add a big damage bonus from GWM now it isn’t worth the feat
I have done Level 1-20 with PAM and it only gets worse the higher the level especially with Fighter
Paladin gets a bit more use after level 11 obviously but isn’t worth just taking another feat in my opinion
Like Mage Slayer which is just so hard to pass on nowadays

I think this kind of product i your best type of work (taking a general consensus and giving your spin on it, usually misaligned with the popular opinion).

How does a glaive's graze mastery work with polearm master and sentinel?
Even if I miss i do damage, so will zero move occur then even though I did not hit essentially
Question, do we get graze from the BA attack?

Thanks for the insights! Very interesting thoughts.
