RAW, the obviously magical effects in new monster stat blocks don't count as "spells or magical effects". I like that you show some love to the Hobgoblin in Mordenkainen Presents MotM! I forgot about it, since it has been overshadowed by all of the Bugbear and Shadar-Kai builds I see everywhere
