Good point. The UA playtest removed Quarterstaff and Spear as options, which would be a shame as I love to combine it with Shillelagh.

With respect to polearm master vs crossbow expert, I think it's worth drawing attention to that even though the bonus action attack gained through polearm master is lower than crossbow expert (d4 vs d6), polearm master gives access to a lot wider variety of weapons and even allows use with a shield. The ammunition property of crossbows effectively limits a OC to only using a Hand Crossbow, not the end of the world, but worth mentioning
