Another way Wizards can break the game

Wanted to come here to contribute an idea that I would love to get feedback on from Treantmonk and the community here. I play a 13th level Gnome Illusionist Wizard. I have recently noticed a pretty powerful synergy between the 6th level illusionist class feature "Malleable Illusions", and the Major Image spell upcast to 6th level. With Malleable Illusions, the Illusionist can alter the appearance of an illusion spell they cast with a duration of 1 minute or longer. So they can manipulate their illusions to change their appearance, form, sound, etc... When you upcast Major Image with a 6th level spell slot (or higher), the duration becomes "until dispelled", and does not require concentration - effectively permanent. So an Illusionist Wizard of 11th level or higher (I didn't notice this interaction until my wizard was 13th level, but this comes online at level 11), can basically have permanent access to Major Image by upcasting with a 6th level spell slot. My gnome chose to create an illusion of a small flock of butterflies that follows behind him or circles his head and torso when he's standing still. He can use an action to change it into a tiny flea that sits on his shoulder when he doesn't want it visible, or he can use an action to change it into... anything else smaller than a 20' cube - whenever he wants, forever. Thoughts?

Shield is only broken because it lasts too long. Absorb elements is useless against non-blast spells. Counterspell would be better if it was not causing counterspell cascade effect.

I think the only reason people think Silvery Barbs isn’t broken was because of the other broken reactions available (shield, absorb elements, to a lesser extent Counterspell).

This edition has no capabilities of balanced class play at Tier 4. Never has. Never will. Highly doubtful WOTC/Hasbro will get it right in the “Not the next” edition either. Too busy catering to the small vocal element of TTRPG community about nonsense matters.
