Hunter's Mark

So i thought about Hunter's Mark (and Hex) for Playtest UA6 and came to this conclusion: Make it a cantrip. It should still use a bonus action to activate and use your Concentration up to an hour (more on this later). It should let you deal an extra 1d4 damage on your first hit each turn. This should scale like Eldritch Blast and Vicious Mockery: to 2d4 damage at level 5 in ranger. 3d4 damage at level 11 in ranger. 4d4 damage at level 17 in ranger. And it should have "this spell ends, if the target dies". No "swapping the target as a bonus action if it died" as you can just recast it again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But having an hour of concentration might be handy for the tracking bonus of hunter's mark or the ability disadvantege of hex. This would fix all kids of problems with those spells: If they don't "cost" your concentration, then they might be too strong as you can combine them and on top of other damage buffs. But if they cost a spellslot and concentration, they are too expensive. So if they use concentration but so not cost a spell slot, you can cast it e.g on turn one for a extra damage, then on round 2, drop concentration to cast a good control spell and as soon as this spell isn't doing anymore for you, cast hunters mark or hex again to up your damage again. ...And people will start to actually use their spell slots for spells ๐Ÿ˜

Great video, I used HM and CBX together all the time, or hex and CBX. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the BA attack to move hunters mark/hex a bit and that's okay.
