FRANKENBUILDS

When you just have to put 2 classes on the same build despite all common sense.

Love it! I've been having a lot of fun with a warlock-dipping druid (protector aasimar). Repelling eldritch blast and spike growth is a great combo, and the combination of friends, mask of many faces, GOO lock telepathy, and wild shape makes for a great spy. I even have the extra aasimar radiant damage for when I need to do a bit more single target. Druids have some good spells that don't rely on Wis too much (summoning, spike growth, heat metal), so I haven't felt too MAD. Feels very witchy or like a spellcaster assassin, sneaking into secure areas. But I will leave the pun mastery up to you!

Frankenbuilds is a great idea. I really enjoy taking a concept, and then trying to mechanically make it as strong as I can. You do get some surprising results. I have said to you before Chris, that I'm playing a grassland druid/divination wizard multiclass, which seems quite a nice conceptual fit. I call it the versatile build. I did DWDDDDDDDDWWW (now level 13) using variant human (resilient con as my feat). Certainly not 'optimised' in the traditional sense. But I focused on keeping my wisdom high (18) and Int just good enough (14), so wizard spells are largely utility, (disguise self, enlarge/reduce, misty step), or defence (shield, absorb elements, mirror image) or rituals (detect magic, comp languages, find familiar, etc). Talk about versatile - I have a spell solution for almost anything. AC is 19 (some minor magic items) with shield, absorb elements MI, making me hard to take down or drop my concentration. Wildshape & misty step make me really hard to pin down anywhere. Every time we come across some unusual problem, my party just look at me and assume I've got some sort of solution. And I have, because with have 27 spells + lots of rituals + portent, and two classes who can change their list every day. Options abound. And I can use druid OR wizard magic items & scrolls. Not a build for people who don't like about 10 choices for every Action. My DM never knows what to expect.
