Yeah the more I think about it, the more I like Gloomstalker to start. If my concept is to be an archer that benefits from not being seen to attack with advantage, I get to experience that from level 3 *some* of the time. And I get the real deal (quickened greater invisibility) just one level later than if I start with Bard.

Given how late the concept comes online (Bard 8 + Sorcerer 3), I think I'd go about it differently. I'd start with 5 levels of Fighter (Battlemaster) and pick up Sharpshooter at level 5, and use precision attack and archery style to offset the -5 to hit. From there I would go 7 levels of Sorcerer, picking up Crossbow Expert along the way. I think this makes a more powerful character between levels 1 and 10. Between 11 and 12, your build is definitely stronger, since you have greater invisibility and the spell slots to use it almost every combat. But with mine at level 13, you can decide to go deeper into fighter OR sorcerer, and get Elven Accuracy right away. If I go sorcerer from there, I can get to sorcerer 15 and get up to 8th level spells. If I go fighter instead, I get more superiority dice, can cap my dex earlier and eventually get to fighter 11 and add another attack. I would even consider dumping charisma to 13 or 14 (since you don't really need it anyway) and take Gloomstalker instead of fighter. You'd lose on the precision attack and action surge, but you get faster spell slot progression, kinda-sorta invisibility if you're in the dark as a placeholder until the real thing, expertise in stealth and an additional attack on your first turn. Your greater invisibility would come online at the same time.

Good stuff! One of my favorite little rules loopholes comes online once you hit Fighter 4: if Martial Versatility is allowed, you can swap out the Dueling Fighting Style you got from Swords Bard with something more useful like Defense or Blind Fighting.
