Let's discuss jumping in D&D

Let's work through the rules
How useful do you think jumping onto enemies is as a tactic? DMG has rules for being on a creature and Tashaβs has rules for falling into the space of a creature to knock them prone. Could you high jump or rabbit hop on top of a creature hoping they fail the DC15 DEX check and fall prone? It could give you advantage on your melee attacks that round and you can get up with half of your remaining movement.

I appreciate this. Itβs a fairly simple rule set, but the way itβs explained in the books is poorly worded and spread across different sections. Putting it all together in a coherent fashion is really helpful. Off topic, I hope everything is going well with your insurance and house sale preparation.
