It looks like WotC might be moving in a similar direction with Armor proficiencies being removed from Hobgoblin and Githyanki

2022-01-14 16:24:47 +0000 UTCThe are so many changes we could make to D&D. I have found proficiencies in general are so powerful at first level. IMO I might consider light armor requires one character level in a class with that proficiency, maybe 3 levels for medium, and 5 for heavy armor. Meaning you would need 5 levels of say fighter or cleric (proper subclass) to even wear heavy armor. Suiting up full plate should be as intricate as casting a fireball. I might even break up weapon proficiencies also. Just ideas for 6th edition.
