Theoretical vs Practical Optimization

Optimization (theoretical in this definition) without consideration of the party, rules intent, DM considerations, and practical applications seemed more tricks ( to use your term, and a good one, ) than FRPG tools for fun and effective play. My heart was broken ( okay, 🤣 drama,) when Monks turned out to still be the orphan bastard class in D&D just as in the 1970s. Oh well, mountain Dwarf, Forest Gnome; Cleric, Fighter, Wizard, and sundry other classes occasionally are enough to keep me happy.

2020-12-04 20:28:35 +0000 UTCThese are useful “watch out for” builds and applications for DMs to at least be aware of and not to be discouraged by a player who shows up with a surprise. Also gives straight forward terms ‘sorry, just because it doesn’t say you can’t doesn’t mean you can’ for counter argument/discussion.
