What a great video. Its funny. Awhile back, say 2015, we had a player who wanted to play a samurai. And he chose barbarian and just reskinned reckless attack as his battle cry "KIA" and his rage was really his ancestors protecting him. And it worked. I think what happens is, especially for old folks, these character types are seared into our heads. We can call the ability of charisma, guile or moxie. I mean an eldritch knight with a high dexterity and mage armor and tavern brawler could actually work as a monk. Or really any PC with access to mage armor could. The shield spell could simply represent a spinning defense of a quarterstaff. Thank you

2020-10-28 19:00:49 +0000 UTCI'm glad you're going over types of builds. What does a caster type warlock look like versus a melee type or bow type? How do we for role play honestly and combine warlock with paladin or cleric? How does a DM include the patron in a meaningful way? I usually play one of the four... rogue, fighter, wizard or cleric and warlock and paladin do not "draw" me in, so as a DM how do I free myself from own personal feelings? How do I stop myself from "eye-rolling"... even internally?
