He was just scared and didn’t wanna do it so they wrote it in a common way where you excuse kids from doing stuff because of their age. Its like saying Oh ok its understandable when you are so young.. things like this are scary at your age.. meaning he is a baby(respectfully). Nothing to do with his age in the group, just that he was the only one scared enough to want to sit it out. It also evened out the teams to 3 vs 3, so i think that made it easier for him to skip since he was on the team with 4 members!
