The main character of Pokémon Red/Green is called Green (also known as Blue in the japanese Version) and part of a commission. The client wanted her hair having slight yellow wisps to resemble her own personal hairstyle more.

I especially like how her smile turned out. Simple but very cheerful. I can't describe exactly why but the hat caused me some trouble since its curvey shape and lines were somehow really hard to draw. I like Greens hair without her hat so I draw another version with her ahoge.

The client also wished for a monochrome version. You may notice the light watercolor-like texture on herclothes and hair. That's a noise effect which I used to add to many anorganic elements in my drawing recently. Additions of texture makes an illustration way more organic and less clean. I use clean tones for mechanical elements with a glossy surface. A bit noise also helps to harmonize different colors and achieve a smooth warm color mud, which makes the overall composition more pleasant to look at.
