HOBIPALOOZA!! | My First Time REACTION To Hobi @ Lollapalooza

SHOOKETH to my CORE is an understatement because there are no words to describe how I felt while watching this performance and even still, hours later.
I am so impressed with Hobi's ability to keep such a massive crowd engaged BY HIMSELF and also sing/rap/dance without missing a beat or losing the stability in his vocals. Every song he performed was a BANGER and I was treated to being exposed to so many new songs that i cannot wait to dive into and explore further.
Oh what I would give to travel back in time to see this performance live, it must have been truly life changing.
I'm so proud of Hobi, it still feel surreal that we have him back with us and I can't wait to follow him anywhere he goes!
Did anyone here go to Hobipalooza and was this the largest crowd any member of BTS has managed solo because DAMN, this was insane!

I mean, of course he and BTS use props and has choreos in a lot of songs but what I mean is that they can literally just be there sitting or standing up just singing and they still manage to keep everyone entertained with their performance and hype up the audience a lot. Hoseok is amazing! his energy and stage presence here was INSANE and the crowd was living their best life too. 💜 He made history and broke records with this, his first solo debut performance 🔥 (He's the FIRST South Korean artist to headline a major U.S. music festival and he's THE HIGHEST ticket seller in Lollapalooza HISTORY!) What an historic debut! Over 100,000 people attending, almost 15M live viewers on Weverse and 4M US viewers on Hulu👀 I've watched Hobipalooza at least 73 times and I'm not even joking! I've even watched it a couple of time through fancams too just to feel the experience lmao😭 If he goes on tour I d1e omg

2024-11-27 06:07:42 +0000 UTCBad luck that the only song you heard from his 2018 hopeworld mixtape, Airplane, is the one song off of it that he didn't perform hahaha. This was his first EVER solo show, so his first time performing not just the Jack in the Box songs, but also the ones from his mixtape too. And he was also the first bts member to do a solo show at the beginning of 'chapter 2'! He was sooooo stressed in the lead up to it he wasn't sleeping and lost like 11 lbs or something like that :( Which honestly makes the stamina it must have taken to get through this even more impressive! Definitely recommend you watch the livestream he and jimin did right after this because it was so cute and they talk about how stressed he was and what a huge help jimin showing up to support him was. Some info about the song Just Dance - it's not related to the game lol. It was his solo from bts's love yourself answer album - and the first part of a trilogy of songs by the rappers that tells the story of a relationship from the beginning to its end. It goes: Just Dace (j-hope) > Love (RM) > Seesaw (Suga). When he said it's been three years since he performed just dance, that's because he only ever performed it during the love yourself/speak yourself tour with bts - which ended in 2019.

I loved this concert so much, I can't count how many times I've watched it! You need to react to a couple of Hobi's songs now. My favorite songs from the performance were Daydream from Hope World, and Outro: Ego from my Map of The Soul: 7. You should also react to the behind the scenes for this concert.

2024-11-24 09:09:12 +0000 UTCNot sure if you noticed but wanted to point it out bc you mentioned The Giving Tree, he is sitting on a tree stump during Safety Zone and the screens behind him are tree branches! 🥹 Also A and B sides are terms from the olden days of record singles, where the big title track was on the front (side A) and they would include another lesser-promoted song on the other side when you flipped it over (B side). So nowadays when we say A side we’re referring to a promoted single or title track, and B side refers to the other non-single songs on the album 🤓

Jimin is in the live with him and it's such a heartwarming video to watch of them two because you see just how much it meant to Hobi that his brother came all the way from Korea to the United States for him, to support him and be with his Hobi. Hobi in early part of his career, received so much hate and people truly tried to say he was ugly and had NO talent. That is very hard to see. If I would have been in the fandom then I would have also fought tooth and nail for him or any of the members in BTS. Hobi rose from that and proved that he was amazing and more. He can sing, dance, rap, dress and look good; I mean he is an ace. And as years passed he just shines brighter, plus this man is FIIINNNEEEEE! I really enjoyed your reaction. My favs are Piece of Peace and Equal Sign and I loved the trio of Baseline, Cypher Pt 1, and Hangsang. He really really paved the way with Lollapalooza. This is where we first met J. Cole 🥰

At the time, he wasn’t 100% satisfied with it because he was rushed to finish it. It’s so inspiring and emotional. It’s similar to Suga’s Road to D-Day documentary, which was honestly life-changing, so I think you’ll understand what I mean. We definitely need to watch all the BTS and solo documentaries at some point—they give such a deep and personal insight into their creative processes and struggles. It’s incredible to see their dedication and how much they put into everything they do. Hehe, let’s make it happen! 😭💜

Also, you discovered “enjoy bts more”! She’s a swedish army (I think her name’s Britta?) who is doing an amazing job accurately captioning BTS performances. Sadly someone reported her channel a while ago and got it taken down, I’m really happy she’s back. There are heaps more subtitled full concerts on her very cheap patreon page too - I think the lyrics add so much emotion to everything, especially if you’re not familiar with the songs already. Hobi worked with those dancers a few times already! The woman in pink is called Sienna, she’s an amazing, young, talented choreographer and the leader of the dance crew. Hobi first met Sienna when they were working on chicken noodle soup together, and then she was called to choreograph ON (a song you haven’t heard yet), and featured in the music video with her dance crew. They also performed with BTS on the permission to dance concerts and obviously here for lollapalooza.

They flew from Maine to Chicago just to see our Hobi, and it was worth every penny! They were four rows back, at the right side of the stage and saw him really well. It’s a memory she will cherish forever!

He was so excited since JCole was such an inspiration to him. Jimin came to support Hobi and they did a live together right after the show that you should watch when you get a chance. It really shows their love for each other and I know you love seeing the members dynamics with each other. Our Bangtan Family!! This was so much fun watching with you 💜

I realised that if you got emotional during this that when you finally watch Yoongis D-Day concert the final day 3, you’re gonna be distraught 😂 I’m glad you listened to Jack in the box before watching, and hopefully you’ll react to Yoongis 3 albums before watching his concert, it’s essential to understand the themes and his emotions. Also realised that you don’t know the meme behind ‘Yoongi marry me’ 😭 also as mentioned by others in numerous comments b-sides are just non title tracks on the album. ‘Blue side’ is a b-sick and the outro song however Hobi put the song out as a full length song after the album because it was so loved and it’s my favourite song of his!! You should check out the BTS episode of the behind the scenes of hobipolooza and also the live he did with Jimin right after, he prepared so much, I’m glad he had Jimin for support! 💜

One of best stages I’ve ever seen hands down. I’m glad ARMY came THROUGH for him that day. 💜 From our point of view, Jimin was up on a balcony to the left. That’s why sometimes hobi would look up or point at him. I’ve seen so many fan cams of that day just to get a glimpse of him 😂 baby always supporting his brothers. 💜💜 That day was when he officially met J-Cole. You should see how starstruck he was meeting him. Jimin was there as well when they met him.
