I have too many emotions to relay right now but if I’m being honest, I am mainly feeling CONFUSED AS HECK! I really thought these last two videos would give me a lot more clarity but my thoughts are lost in the abyss so I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to read your theories on everything and would love if you could also suggest me some breakdown videos so that we can get a better grasp on this series.
It was incredible and I loved every second of going through this somewhat traumatic storyline with you cuties HAHAH hopefully we can get some answers though!!

The Notes are journal entries by the boys' characters that were released as part of album packaging originally and later compiled into 2 novels. The videos (and this video game trailer) reference events from the notes, so it's hard to put the pieces together if you haven't read them (but it's a lot so a summary might be easier if you don't want to pick up the books). The webtoon illustrated the first chunk of the notes - up to a major turning point in the story

The webtoon doesn't cover the full narrative, but maybe the first third or first half of the story (thus far). The guys' characters are supposed to be early twenties/late teens (the 22 in the map of the soul video dates is actually referring to jin's character's age, not the year 2022, because that's how the dates work in the Notes books). JK is supposed to still be in high school, for example. so I think the guys probably feel a bit silly acting as those characters now they're in their thirties lol. But the BU hasn't been finished yet so hopefully they will give us an ending at some point. Maybe in the form of more webtoons (or, in my personal hope, an animated series/movie voice acted by the guys). 2025 is the ten year anniversary of the BU and it's been hinted they may revisit it.

2024-11-21 21:22:22 +0000 UTCI think the only reason it's not officially marked as BU is because it was an OST for a movie, so it'd be a bit conflict of interest to say outright that the mv was for their own storyline. BUT imo there's no way the BU imagery is coincidental. It fits too well.

You'd be much further ahead in understanding the plot if you were able to read all of the written narrative points they've included in MVs. I'm dying watching this knowing some of the answers are right there, you just can't read them. ha

Also i personally recommend watching after it this live performance where after ‘save me’ it switches to it’s b track song ‘I’m fine’ and it’s a responsed to save me. Also sugarmy made this video talking about ‘im fine’ choreo where yoongi exposed Jin where he supposed to do a move but he complained and yoongi did it instead. JK (who is theorized may be stuck in his own timeloop) noticing that his own hourglass and jin's don't match up. and then tae reaching out to jin at the end through the window, after everything has blown up. it is SO BU coded, I'm astonished that people argue it's totally unrelated. I know the song was made for that time travel k-drama, but I think a video can be about more than one thing, you know?

Personally, I prefer the way bookish theories broke down the Notes books in her video, since xceleste kind of glosses over a lot of details from the Notes, and they're waaaaay more interesting and in-depth than you get from the summary that she does!

They also have a kdrama called “begins ≠ youth” to explain the events prior to all these happening to the members 😭 it’s actually so good you need to check it out someday ! I love this series so much

Jin is only now releasing his first solo album not because of mistreatment or he didn’t have the confidence to do it before but simply because he did not have the time to do it before having to enlist. He had already released many solo songs and music for OSTs prior to today. Let’s not perpetuate the idea that he is not confident. He may get nervous, yes. But let’s not question his self confidence. The reason why he was nervous before MMA 2019 is because it was a solo dance stage. Which he’s never done before then (he has since already done more solo performances that involved choreography.) Prior to the group hiatus, none of them released solo albums. The rapline only released free mixtapes on SoundCloud prior to the group hiatus (which were not company funded and not promoted). They all had solo songs on their group albums but none of them did solo albums or solo concerts. All of that happened during hiatus. And because Jin was to enlist first, he did not have time to record a full album. He did The Astronaut, performed in Argentina with Coldplay, prerecorded monthly videos for ARMY, gave us Wootteo, released merch, recorded so many content, and then he enlisted. At this point, only Hobi has released an official solo album with Jack in the Box. A few days before Jin’s enlistment, RM released his first solo album and the rest of the members released theirs in 2023.
