I didn't know much about her coming into this, but I left really loving her character! I can see why Ms. Marvel idolizes her haha. I also love origin stories, so this was a ton of fun for me. PLUS, Top Gun is one of my all time favorite movies, so all of the pilot stuff was so satisfying. I can't wait to see more of her in the Avenger movies yaaaaaay!!

HA! Just watched with your commentary. Your face during that first mission was EXACTLY like mine. The scene just kept getting more and more awesome. The rest of the film could have been terrible, and I still would have had that moment seared onto the surface of my brain. And, yes, major goosebumps during the ending montage of her falling down and getting back up. Also, watching it this time, I feel like the score (not the soundtrack) is pretty underrated, even by me. There was some really good stuff in there that I forgot about.

When it was revealed that Talos and his group were not villains at all (as we tended to expect whenever Skrulls were involved in comic book runs), and he said, "My hands are filthy with it, too", talking about all of the unnecessary violence and bloodshed, I got really emotional. It ends up being a good commentary on how easily people can be swindled by hateful propaganda disseminated by a tyrannical, imperialistic regime. Of course, there are always the ones who never needed to be manipulated into their hatred and lust for political violence. I'm so thankful nothing like THAT is going on in the world. Amirite!? That scene when they go on their mission to the Skrulls, and they drop down into the water, and they're already speeding toward the shore! Right when that happened, I looked over at my girlfriend and mouthed the words: "That. Was. Fucking. Awesome". Shooting Yon-Rogg in the middle of his pathetic attempt to appeal to her insecurities was so satisfying. Jude Law is so good at being a complete ass.
