"Kicking ourselves for previously enjoying it" is exactly what's going on here lol

I hadn't considered either of these theories... I like to think she wouldn't use Mike like that, so I'm going to believe it's the first one haha

I agree Mike definitely wouldn't have slept through gunshots; yet Stacey insisted that she heard 3 shots that night. Clearly there weren't any. So what's the explanation for that? Hearing the exact same number of shots at the exact same time 3 nights in a row to me suggests some sort of PTSD over how her husband died. It is only a few months out from him dying and of course everything re-surfaced recently with the police stuff and her finding the money. If most people saw a chip in their wall like that they'd probably think nothing of it, but when you're paranoid and looking for signs, you tend to find them. Others have suggested that if she pretends that they're living in a dangerous neighbourhood: Mike, who has been financially supporting them recently, will pay for a nicer home for them. Effectively using Mike for, what she must imagine to be a good Police pension that he has. I'm more dubious to that idea, but the writers have said they purposely write things like this grey and leave it up to us to decide her motive. There'll still be more to come on this moving forward, so I'm curious what you guys come to think :)

The tough part of this show is that the shenanigans are really fun to watch. But sort of the theme of this whole universe is that nobody ever gets away with anything. So we watch and enjoy the tricks, but then have to sit and watch the consequences unfold and then kick ourselves for previously enjoying it. Then we do it all over again 😂 Chandra nailed it. "better to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission." Jimmy saw how much effort they put into that boring ad and thought there'd be no way they'd entertain his more creative, dramatic ad though he was confident it'd work. It is so true though. Legal ads are horrendously boring. I may have even qualified for some that I've seen but I wouldn't know because I tune out before they even get anywhere... Nice to see the college film students back working with Jimmy :D
