Oh what!? They drop hints of that that early in the series!!

Chandra

What you said about rewatches in the intro is 100% true. They drop sooo many hints to things that you can’t possibly pick up on on first watch. For example season 1 episode 2 there are hints dropped about Jon’s real parentage that a first time viewer would not even know to look for. Highly recommend it!

When you put it that way, it totally makes sense. But I don't have to like it! Haha

Chandra

Yes, I think you're 100% right! More episodes would have helped a lot with showing her transition to "me vs everyone else".

Chandra

Haha I can’t count how many times I’ve rewatched this with new reactors!

Like I said before Jaime was so in love with Cersei and was referenced many times throughout the show.Jaime wasn't in love with Brienne, it isn't a Disney movie its how love works. Also his character arc wasn't ruined as there are many character arcs not just redemption arcs as a writer I can tell you that.It was far from a senseless death it was poetic actually.I have watched the series so many times I have lost count and I think you should to to pick up on these points.

"What do you do without Game of Thrones in your life?" - You re-watch the series alongside YouTube reactors πŸ˜‰

Definitely not as far fetched as I believed. I was definitely watching the show looking to see if they set it up and you’re 100% on the money. The two people she trusted the most and usually talked her off the edge are gone. And with everything else Danny was going through, it’s definitely more set up than not.

I think Varys's death made me even more angry than Littlefinger's death! I didn't think that was possible!! Daenerys's turn is odd, too. I can't put my finger on it. She's always met disrespect with violence, so that part makes sense. But to burn innocents, she must have slipped into a "Me vs. Everyone Else" mentality, and I just don't think they showed that happen... She's felt pretty alone before and not turned on the common people. She's been betrayed before (By Jorah!!) and hasn't projected that betrayal onto the common people. I think some puzzle pieces were missing from the writing this season. Maybe too few episodes?

N.T. Stars

When you go back and rewatch the series you will see that Dany was really like this for the majority of the series. She threatens to burn every city she goes to. Kills so many people along the way. Only difference between then and now is she didn't have Jorah or Missandei to talk her off the ledge, the only people she truly trusted towards the end and the people she killed, they've always been the "Bad guys" so us the viewers didn't care as much. Add on to that like she said, she has no love here, she knows she would lose the throne to Jon if she didn't put fear into the people. When the bells tolled, I think at that point she was totally gone. She was going to take the deaths of her dragons, and friends and repay them 10 fold and destroy everyone in her path. Tough way for a beloved character to turn out but like I said on re-watch I noticed even more so how this turn wasn't so far fetched as a lot of people thought it was.

"I will take what is mine with fire and blood." She promised way back. And honestly, it makes sense. Her father was the Mad King. Her brother was insane with power-greed in season 1. It was only a matter of time.

OMG Two episodes today! What a treat! This episode in a nutshell: "Finally we get rid of the Nasty L... oh no wait! Here is her replacement!"
