Now that Firefly is finished, I'm going to be starting Chernobyl. Way back when, we did our "Which TV Series should we watch next" poll and Chernobyl tied with Firefly, so here we are!
Also, you might be wondering why Jordan isn't joining me for this one... Firstly he's actually seen it already! I was much too scared to watch it then, but now that I've got all of you I figure I can be brave haha. And second, now that we have a little one it's tougher to both watch everything together, so this one is just me ❤️❤️❤️

The details and extent of the accident were kept secret for years. One thing you need to realize when watching this is how different Soviet society was from the West and how intensely they protected State Secrets. 10's of thousands of agents were dedicated to spying on fellow Soviet citizens resulting in people being very reluctant to challenge whatever The State told them.

I recently lost my job and watching your guy's videos is something for me to look forward to and take my mind off things for a while. Thank you!! For this series, something I'd highly recommend is listening to The Chernobyl Podcast. It's a podcast with the show's creator. There is a companion podcast episode for each episode of the show and they were careful not to spoil future episodes, so you can listen episode by episode. It gives some behind the scenes on the show as well as info about the real events and how they were adapted into the show. Pretty sure it's available on YouTube. Highly recommend!
