Added 2024-07-16 18:02:09 +0000 UTCHello hello! I hope you’re all doing alright out there with this wild heat. Normally I’d be excited to be outside camping, but yowza I think it’s too hot for even that. So here’s to staying inside with some ice cold lemonade and watching movies!
Alrighty, last week’s poll winner was Galaxy Quest! It sounds like knowing a bit about the original Star Trek series/William Shatner as Captain Kirk, fan conventions, and sci-fi tropes will help us catch fun easter eggs. Luckily we’re familiar with a little bit of all of those things, so this movie should be a hoot!

This is known as a "Love Letter" to Star Trek and you'll see after watching it :) I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan having grown up watching Star Trek, Star Wars and a bunch of lesser known and Cult Classics. Some of the best of that bunch are Battle Beyond the Stars, Moon and Star Crash.

2024-07-17 12:07:11 +0000 UTCFOR MORE BILL PAXTON --- one of his early roles was in the very funny teen movie from the 80"s "weird science" (very early robert downy jr role as well) bill plays the older brother, who gets an amazing comeuppance in course of the movie. Plot of the movie - two teen losers, use a computer to make a woman- she instill them with confidence and by the end they get actual girlfriends themselves. great john Hughes movie. look into it...... you will like it.
