Sci-Fi Comedy Poll!
Added 2024-07-10 03:29:19 +0000 UTCHi Everyone! It was another nail-biter last week, but the winner was True Lies! Total Recall was a close second though, so we'll keep that in mind for the future.
This week we're asking what your favorite Sci-Fi Comedy is! A few of these have been recommend by you before, so we're excited to see what wins. Happy voting!

oooooh okay! Well we both love Sci-fi, so we know some of the tropes, and we've been to a Comic-con before, so we know a bit about that too!

While there are definitely some Easter eggs and/or references that come straight out of the old series, I think that enjoying the movie is more based around knowledge of sci-fi tropes, fan convention culture, and background on some of the shared animosities that the cast of the original Star Trek series had with each other, and with their fanbase. The movie pokes more fun at William Shatner the actor than his character, Captain Kirk. That said, really looking forward to "True Lies".

2024-07-11 17:24:51 +0000 UTCLike a lot of ppl have said, I think Galaxy Quest is funnier after getting familiar with Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS). You definitely don't need to watch the entire series (79 eps), around 10 is sufficient. This is a good watch/skip guide for TOS, I'd go with any episode rated 4 or higher (I'd also add Mirror, Mirror). The original crew movies are also really great if you haven't seen them yet. https://www.letswatchstartrek.com/tos-episode-guide/
