GOOEYCANDY Newsletter & Updates! 🤡 [APRIL2025 - Issue #07]: "I Ain't Foolin' Around"

Welcome back for another Gooeycandy Newsletter, where you get up to date with ALL things gooeycandy! Let's dive right in!

First off, sorry for not having much to update on, in the past two weeks I visited family out of town (hard to work there, for obvious reasons haha), and then got pretty sick for a few days (don't worry I'm all better now!) Not to mention I've been up to my ears in convention preparation! Anyway, enough excuses! Let's get to it!

🎨 Art & Project Progress:

• New Sticker Sheet: Here's the (almost) finalized version of the sticker sheet that's supposed to resemble a Grindr grid! I wanna tweak a few of them still, but here's where it's at right now! Let me know if you have any critique!

  

• Enamel Pin Designs: Almost done designing a silly pin I've had the idea for forever, and I think I found a manufacturer that can pull it off! The dick has a spring so it bounces when you move it. Like a bobblehead! I'll keep you posted on any updates for this!

  

• Project "BRO": Still working out some kinks with this big project, but you better get hyped cause I'm really hyped for it!! Here's another teaser, likely a full reveal for the concept in one of the next few Newsletters! Curious to hear your predicitions tho. 👀

  

• Hands On! Progress: Officially programmer-less. Miss him dearly. Too busy lately to review the sent portfolios for a new programmer, but I'll get to that! 😵

  Unfortunately, this does mean Hands On! progress will slow until I can find someone new to work with.

  If you know anyone who is skilled at Unity/working with 2D assets and may be interested, send them this application please!! I’ll likely be reaching out soon!

🔎 Current Focuses: 

• Barapalooza (the Mexico City convention I will be attending in June) is my current main priority. The grind DON'T STOP. Check out the mediocre progress on my booth haha.

  

• The "Best Of Gooeycandy (2018-2024) Art Book" has been getting a teeeeny bit more progress! I need to hurry or I’ll have to change the title from 2024 to 2025... 💀 I’m still considering Kickstarting it, just to get practice on that as well as being able to offer little perks!

Still insanely overwhelmed with life, got sick, sister has mysterious health issues, I got WEDDING drama (I don't want to pay $300 for a suit to my friends wedding 😭) Not to complain but sometimes drawing is the one thing keeping me sane lol.

BUT ALAS, WE CARRY ON!!!! 💪🏼 Upside, I'm feeling really gym & cooking motivated lately, so hopefully I can ride that wave for a while!

And now to Gooey with Sports: Dodgeball Team got 3rd RIP. We didn't lose a game all season until the finals ☠ whateverrrrr I had fun. Kickball starts today, so hoping my team is rad.

🎥 NOW WATCHING: Survivor, Severance, White Lotus, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor

SPOILERS AHEAD!! Don't read if not caught up!

Survivor: Cedrek..... what are you doing bro. You voted off Bianca who was so at the bottom she was trusting you with her entire game, instead of Sai who already doesn't trust you and is volatile???? Insane move... maybe it'll pay off but I dead ass couldn't believe it.

Severance: Holy shit. Severance is the best show on TV and it's not close. That finale was beautiful and tragic and I just love these characters so so much. I loved how they handled the Innie/Outie Mark conversation. And that last scene was stressful as hell. Now we waiiiiiiiiit for season 3... wahhhhhh.

Kaiji Ultimate Survivor: Just started it with my roomie. I've only seen the first game (the rock paper scissors) but it's really good so far. Hate that dude who betrayed them... trust no bitch.

White Lotus: THE FRUIT THE FRUIT WHOS DYING BY FRUIT AAAAAAA. This seasons been wild I am simply praying for Belinda and her son's safety. And the big tooth girl who I love.
