That's why I think tactical nukes are a good option. Can't destroy the planet, but good for deterrence.

Our allies do not seek nuclear weapons and rely upon guarantees that we will launch if they are hit with atomic weapons. Yet what happens when you have a leader that extorts our allies and demands what amounts to protection money and a militaristic PRC who constantly saber rattles and openly prepares for war against Taiwan? I can't blame Japan for entertaining the idea. They certainly already have the technology and technical know-how to make it happen quickly. Wumao have also been going wild on Twitter with threats of first-strikes and then calling Japan aggressive for adopting a defensive stance on Taiwan.
