[Wednesday] From the Archives: Nickie Jean, "Opium Den"

Nickie Jean appears a lot in my work, especially this past year. She's probably one of my closest female friends in Los Angeles and her platinum hair and grey-green eyes paired with a chameleon-like ability to turn herself into dozens of different characters draws me back to her again and again and again.

Earlier this year, as Nickie and I were rekindling our friendship, I saw some photos of her amazingly decorated house, which reminded me of an opium den. I pitched her my idea, she added in the geisha look, and we spent an evening drinking wine, smoking weed and shooting these moody images while Glass Animals played on Pandora.

I ended up loving these shots so much, that I had one printed large-format and hung it in my living room.

I don't think I'll ever get sick of shooting this girl, I hope you won't either!
