Dom finally asks why she was trying to open the tomb if she was secretly in their side. Desire tells them that the doors were not holding an evil entity at bay.

It was the exit

I was expecting we'd actually confront the spirit as the actual big bad. especially since dan didnt seem like he finished his second tf? must heal desire first before we leave. dont want to go back to our world with her having a gaping axe wound

Pretty much yeah! Their heroic quest was actually going to cause their downfall if they succeeded. In a way Dezan/Desire was the secret hero

Those were the real mages that had malicious intent before the players entered the game. Once they entered the game, Desire took the place of the leader who escaped from their prison. Same mage but different soul

TFSubmissions

True! The apostle in the elf story arc tried to mock them by hinting their quest was midlead but aside from that they were led astray and given a mission that would cause them to be trapped in the game for good if they succeeded in their mission

TFSubmissions

The quest was a red herring (no hints or clues hidden that it was). I.E.... The game tried to cheat. Great twist. :)

But what about the mage who attacked the realm of the Shadow Imps? From the sound of it, it seemed to have potential for a plot.

Pokemonfanzocker

So the game was setting them up to trap themselves forever?
