It would be exciting to see Makayla discover her superpowers and use them for the first time.

By that time, a curious teenage girl, she has already googled it and seen tons of videos of meta human influencers (because you know there's got to be many of them making money posting videos of them doing feats of strength and durability). By the time of the first issue, she knows the basics of what meta humans can do. It will be from other meta humans that she will learn the finer details and the things she doesn't know she can do yet. Some of that has already started from her interaction with Rose. Other mentors will show up further down the line.
