New Video - What the HELL is Mother Up?

Comments

When I watched the final episode of Mother Up with you during a recent Twitch stream, I felt the same way you did: it was dull and unmemorable, with forgettable, unlikable characters and a supreme lack of humor and heart. Based on this video, the rest of the series was no better, with Rudi Wilson not such a great main character despite Eva Longoria's best efforts and the same flaws that dragged down the series finale being prevalent throughout the entire series. It's no wonder this show came and went after only one season...the premise of a "female Family Guy" series just didn't work. As far as the video itself goes, my favorite gag was the moment where the lawn mower guys turned up to interrupt your recording session, with you pointing out that they probably wait for you to start recording before they begin to mow the lawn. I wasn't expecting to see you turn this real life incident-which you tweeted about a few days ago-into an actual funny moment in the video, so it got a good laugh out of me. The classic Think Mark Think reference-with Peter Griffin and Rudi Wilson-was also brilliant. Most importantly of all, your disappointment in how the show turned out to be nothing more than an inferior Family Guy clone is profound. Not finding a single moment that made you laugh or bring you joy is living proof that the people behind the show should've gone back to the drawing board and rework the series to make it more engaging and enjoyable. I'm sure it's not the worst Hulu Original Series or even the worse Family Guy ripoff, but Mother Up failed on so many levels. Here's to hoping that if we ever get another "Family Guy for women" series, it will have more effort put into it and not turn out to be a dull and forgettable experience. Hope you take care of yourself, Saber...see you next week! =)
