" The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the MetBall, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. "
So this event happened recently and a bunch of celebs dressed in really cool outfits / costumes with a THEME, that theme being Catholic Imagery.
Here's a couple actors, Zendaya (from Spider-Man) and Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther himself)

As you can see, it's modern, but also looks like ancient armor, religious getup, etc.
Many people drew themselves as their "Met Persona" (Metsona) I guess the fact that both those celebs are Marvel actors (who aint these days) inspired me to draw SPIDER-MAN himself.
Here he is again:

This was inspired by this depiction of the Virgin Mary.

I gave the wounded heart more rays pouring out, making it a cypher of Spidey's usual emblem.

Besides that, he's got the hood, and a scarf made outta webbing-- with GOLDEN thread web. Figured he'd fance out for this affair. And he's blazin' in all white.
Anyway this was a total "for fun" thing and dang if it wasn't!
