Progress Report- Ongoing: (New Character Creator, Liquid System v2.0 + New Waterskin Rework, New Player Description, Other; Entice News, Travel Event News ). Bug Fixes, New Spellbook Rework.

Hey guys! 

Sorry about the late progress report. 

Classes  are finished for the semester and I've been nose deep in game-design  since then. It's actually hard to do a progress report at the moment  because I'm working on a ton of things simultaneously because they  basically all connect with one another and aren't finished yet. That's  why I haven't done a progress report in a few days. It's like...hey! I'm  still working on things...that is all. @_@ All I ask is that you guys  remain patient and vigilant. Game design takes time. 

With  that said, I do have some news. Basically,  because I took so much time  hunting down bugs and fixing errors that people reported  (leaving only  two minor/complex ones left to completely fix) that I haven't even  gotten around to the work that I actually wanted to do this update. SO  --- after I release the next hotfix (probably in a couple days or so),  I'll be pushing back the Patron Beta, which means I'm pushing back the  Public release as well. This is because I'm in the middle of the  Character Creator System v2.0 which I should be able to show you guys a  sample of in a few days, and I can't release the game with it half  finished (for obvious reasons). 

I'm also REALLY close to  finishing the new Player Description, which should be more streamlined,  easier to read, and much more awesome than the current version is. As I  mentioned in the title, I'm redoing the Liquid System v2.0 too (which is  actually one of the major hotfix delays). Once it's done, you'll be  able to collect Water, Goo, Semen, Juice, Rain..etc. I'll explain all of  this in more detail below. 

Before I do though, keep in  mind that I'm working as fast as I can but some things take a lot more  time than others. All of the stuff mentioned in the title of this post  have been HUGE projects. This isn't like slapping a new band aid on  something and saying done. It requires massive reworkings of the inner  system of the game. A good example of that is the new Character Creator.  Another example is the Player Description. That alone is a massive  rewrite and I'm adding 23 complete race descriptions in every category,  most of which are done now and I'm blending variables together to make  them sound much more organic and removing as much clutter from it as  possible at the same time. 

So please relax and give me  time. I'm not a machine and I don't want to half ass anything on the  game and then hand it out knowing it's not good enough. You guys deserve  better and I'm determined to give that to you. That has always been my  goal. 

Anyway, let's get started. 


ONGOING


New Character Creator:
So as I mentioned the Character Creator is going to be a dynamically  changing, interactive window. Right now, you can hide and show stats  during the creation process, questions are dependent on the dominant  mood you choose and things will change depending on your gender. All  aspects of the Character Creator is also being handled in questions  which you can quickly skip through but which also make the process seem  more organic and interesting. It isn't a "Choose your Eyecolor." sort of  thing. Anyway, so the skeleton is being assembled but it's a delicate  process because of all the dynamic changes going on within it. It should  prove to be an extremely in-depth look at your character though :) 

Liquid System v2.0 + New Waterskin Rework: 
This came out of necessity but to be honest, it needed a bit of a rework  anyway so I'm glad about it. The ground structure is basically  completed, I just have to add one more little thing I believe and that  will fix the Water Issue and the Fireplace Douse Event. It also opened  up a huge door that I think will help the player a little. The Waterskin  (and soon all the water containers) in lieu of these changes now has a  new verb which has replaced FILL. The new verb is LIQUID SEARCH. Now if a  room potentially contains a liquid, the game will let you know either  way. And the FILL verb will now be on the object carrying the water, or  liquid. Which means you can potentially fill all your containers at  once. But I'll let you know more about that once it's near completion. 

New Player Description:
The Tail descriptions are now finished, which take lust into account,  dominant mood, race and gender. Now I've moved onto Hands and Feet which  again is receiving the same treatment as the rest of the sections. Once  those are done, I'll clean up the stats, move them to the stat's  button/stats command and then I'll modify all the current wear  descriptions to fit the new player descriptions which probably won't  take but a few hours. That should finish that.

Other; Entice News, Travel Event News:
So I have a rather extensive sex scene written, I just need to implement  it into the game. I also have a scenario written for some people you  might run into during one of the events :) I also have some of the  background story of the new Whispering Thicket area.

COMPLETED

Bug Fixes:
I fixed the Zombie Run Event which was apparently not displaying a  paragraph or three, and it wasn't acknowledging the player carrying  weapons --- which was a result of the Duplication System. This should be  one of the last instances where that is a problem. But anyway, that has  been repaired and the correct paragraphs now display. I just have to  finish one tiny bug which is removing the said weapon if it breaks  during the event. Aside from the Fireplace, this should be some of the  last bugs that have been caught thus far in the entire game (not  including Rold's Laboratory). 

New Spellbook Rework: 
I fixed the Spellbook not being recognized. Duplication again! I’ve  decided to rework the Spellbook’s uses a bit too; instead of hidden  commands in the two rooms; Master Bedroom and the Upstairs Bathroom,  I’ve decided to add a Use Verb on the Spellbook itself. Now if you are  in the presence of magic---even puzzles or traps or NPCs, when you Use  your Spellbook, it’ll warn you about it. It will vibrate; very, very  slightly (meaning not very powerful magic at all), slightly (an average  amount of magic is nearby), tremendously (indicating a lot of powerful  artifacts or spells are nearby), and then extremely violently (which  means tread carefully). These are all indicated in the messages that  will pop up now. New rooms also have reactions from the Spellbook if you  Use it in them, specifically; Living Room, Western Hallway, Storage  Facility, Upstairs Study, Open Doorway/Kitchen, Laboratory Landing, East  Hallway, and the Master Bedroom. If no magic is present in a room then  you’ll get a message indicating that. Cool, huh?
