So I've been working a lot on the weapon scripts---actually, been working on them for the past...4-6 days now. They definitely took a lot longer than I thought they would but that's the cost with fully customizing weapons toward enemies. I mean, I could do something like...
"You attack the minotaur"
"You attack the goblin"
But that to me doesn't scream best text adventure game ever! Matter of fact, it screams lazy in my opinion and not very immersive at all. As I mentioned before, I want battles to feel exciting and different, and very dependent on what weapon you're using and the enemy you're attacking because whether you're fighting multiple mobs or just one, it'll actually feel and read like a epic battle for your character's life. The cool thing about customizing the battles too is that some enemies will react differently to different weapons or fearful; for example, the Male Minotaur doesn't like the whip weapon and the Pale Abomination gets confused by the Spell Book. But anyway, I'll explain the rest below :)
I'm also still head deep in classes for this semester @_@ Can't wait for summer.
Bug Fixes:
So there's a lot of trial and error going on with the Save System right now and a few other errors in different fields of the game that are slowly and methodically being eliminated! It'll take some more time though and depending on where I am with them, I may delay the Public release as I don't want to release a broken version of the game. Keep in mind though that once the save issue is fixed you SHOULD be able to use old save files again and pick up right where you left off, but no promises. I won't be able to test that particular aspect myself so you guys will have to let me know. If you can't use them, I severely apologize. Once the system is fixed, you should be able to use previous saves for new updates again and the Save System itself will return to it's testing phase once more. Just have a little patience. I added a lot of things to the game and the Save System has to be adjusted to them.
Weapon Scripts:
I basically went into this in the above intro paragraph but to add to it, each weapon script is about 30k per enemy in length, and the following unarmed combat is a little less than that, so together it's basically editing and rewriting a small novel, which is why it's taken me almost a week to write them. On the plus side, the should be able to finish up the last of the weapons today and the unarmed in the following days.
Equipment Viewer Grid:
Here is the latest file for the Equipment Viewer Grid (shown above).
As you can see, I tried to set it up so that main equipment will be on one side and logically follow a typically physical body and then the other side will be accessory equipment or extra equipment. There's even a slot for weapons too. The default male and female models will appear in the center of this and will change depending on your gender, naturally. The names of your equipment will be placed horizontally in the boxes for easy reading as well.
Character Creator Progression:
Here is the final story-line aspect of the new Character Creator coming up soon. Let me know what you guys think. This will obviously change (if I can do that) based on your dominant mood as the creation process begins, but typically this will be what "Serious" and "Sympathy" moods will see. But hopefully it gives a little more insight to the state of the world around the player.

The Planet is dying and our continent, Auvora, is all that remains. At least that’s what some believe. The Void, the manifestation of corruption, lust and darkness has corroded the sea, perverted the land and it’s inhabitants, and now it has brought death to our doorstep. We all stand deep in the hurricane’s eye; one breath in wait as our warriors, knights, wizards and ancient protectors give their lives to hold this terrible evil at bay.
But now the tide has begun to recede and the hour of hopeful wishing has turned dim and despairing. The death stroke to finish us all might have finally been dealt---The Savior, the Muse’s special chosen, the only one who can truly fight back the Void has disappeared from the front. Taking with her our freedom and our futures. At first, this mere whisper only affected the paranoid and the doomsayers but when the whispers of a terrible omen circulated into the mix, even long established businessmen, religious leaders and traders began to flee their homes; each wanting to get as far from the Void and the fighting as possible. As a result, once thriving villages of commerce and trade became abandoned remnants of family dynasties, and ancient traditions.
That’s what happened here. Everyone from this village, save for the elderly who refuse to leave their homes no matter how bad things got, are gone. So I sit here trying to remember how things were when I was a kid. If I can do that and find myself, perhaps these ancient whispers and impassible walls can no longer trap my will and I can journey to the southwest with the others and seek protection in these last days. But who have I become after all this time?" Choices Will Follow Here.
