2021-08-25 08:45:43 +0000 UTCI'd like to note that leeches are used in modern medicine, and do work for some things, and Ranma, if he had any medical training, especially for healing certain types of injuries in the extremities, is likely to know that. It's a bad idea to spread misinformation about modern medicine, even in fiction, which could prevent people from accepting important treatments. A more accurate thing Ranma might have said is that leeches are vastly over-used for too many things that they don't help with, or make worse, and that they, and the resulting wounds, aren't kept clean enough in many older forms of medicine.
