Mega Mecha Mishap - Concept Sketches

Just for anyone curious: some of the early concept sketches for the comic where I was still figuring things out.

I looked at a lot of different mecha designs and pilot suits to piece together what I wanted for this story: for the pilot suits in particular, I took some influence from Supergirl's outfit in the show, My Adventures with Superman, because I LOVED that metal "chin strap" looking thing she has. It just looked so badass I HAD to add it. I also threw on a bunch of belts since I figured it'd be hotter to bust out of as Saya got bigger.

For the mecha themselves, it was more about having each suit reflect the character: Saya's looks tougher and more aggressive since she's more of a fighter on the field type, whereas Warren's is smaller and less intimidating since he's more of a support. I also took out that huge shoulder cannon since it didn't really fit his vibe lol.
