Okay, I'm finally back home and I'm two rambles behind. I'm just going to catch up with a single post instead of sending out a bunch of emails for no reason. Sorry. If you're still here, please know that I love and appreciate you.

Game Dev Stuff

I'm back at the ol' office and recovering from jetlag and also a cold. But it's time to get some real work done again.

I built and released 2.0.6b. It adds a new button to the settings screen.

Maybe you can guess what it does.

That's right! It opens the hcnone Steam Developer page in your browser so you can follow it for a cool notification whenever I release a new game on Steam. Which is probably not going to be all that often, so please feel comfortable to follow to your heart's content.

Of course, if you're here you probably already know about the hcnone Steam Developer page, so maybe you did that already.

Fanatical Bundle

There comes a moment in every game's life when it is added to a bundle with 3 or more games at the low low price of $9.99. That's right! Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines is a part of Fanatical's "Build Your Own Story Rich Games Bundle", going on now until November 20. Assuming you wanted to buy 2 other games in that bundle, then it's the lowest price the game's ever been! At least in USD.

And of course, I've prepared a new sales image for the event.

For me, the hope is to get more people playing Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines, so they can become future merch buyers, or future Patreon subscribers, or even... future sequel players...? As a bonus, I also get a small infusion of "income" for "rent" and "health insurance" while I work on Game 2.

Hopefully it won't cut into Steam purchases too much. And even if it does, maybe the new players will press the new Steam button in the Settings menu to follow me on Steam so they'll know whenever I make a new game. See? I think of everything.

If you had any interest in any of these other Story Rich games (which you should, because there's a lot of good games in there, and also the Gollum game), it's a good way to score Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines Steam Keys for cheaper than usual, so you can send it to some friends or whatever. It's a good stocking stuffer, maybe. As they say.

Merch Update: Future Stuff

I signed off on the last remaining designs for an upcoming merch collection with an awesome partner. I'm super excited about this, so please stay tuned. Am I hyping it up too much? I actually don't think that's even possible. Anyway, it'll probably be a while, so I still have lots of time to gather more fans who will buy merch through cheap bundle sales.

Merch Update: Sticker Shop

The sticker shop is still closed, but I'm on track to reopen it in late October, which is actually earlier than I had planned. I'm restocking a bunch of sold-out stickers (including Pixel Burger...) and I actually made a couple new ones, too! One of them is a completely new design I made specifically to be a sticker (a rare occurrence indeed), and one features an obscure(?) character but Fred Megatokyo himself requested it, so...

It seems all of my latest stickers have been rectangular, but as we all know, rectangles are the most trustworthy shape.

New Pens and Stationery

What, you think I'd go all the way to Korea and Japan and not post about my pen and stationery haul?

Okay, honestly I didn't go as crazy as I thought I would. The only new pens since my last update are the rOtring 600 (which I've wanted for a while as it's highly revered in the pen community), the Hi-Tec-C Coleto "choose-your-own-refill" multipen, the Nintendo Tokyo Jetstream 4+1 I got as a souvenir from the Tokyo Nintendo Store, and the 2026 Hobonichi Jetstream 3 Multipen I got as a free gift from Tobichi when I got my 2026 Hobonichi Techos and Tamagotchi cover. Surprisingly my most favorite thing here is the XS correction tape from Midori. It's tiny and fits in my compact pen pouch and I use it all the time.

I actually think I'm done with new pens for a while. My pen pouch can only fit a few of these anyway.

I spent most of my free time just wandering around which was cool, but I think next time I come I'll try to have more of a structured plan. But I'm also only allowing myself to go back if I have a Game 2 to show at TGS. So it goes.

Other Stuff

Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon went on sale for like 40% off on the Switch eShop a while back (and I guess it's on sale again now), so I picked it up since I was in a visual novel mood. I basically knew nothing about it before diving in (yes sorry I'm not a Type-Moon or even visual novel expert (shock (gasp))), but I found it very compelling, and finished all the routes in a couple weeks or so. But now I'm more familiar with the sort of game systems and features that a real visual novel has, and I kind of want to incorporate some of the learnings (where appropriate) into my sequel. And now I know where Neco Arc is from.

I also think my Switch 2 is basically the perfect device to play on. I got the prequel Witch on the Holy Night (also on sale) and I'll be playing through Fate Stay/Night Remastered after that. I'm now fully invested in the Nasuverse.

Also, bad ends within Game 2 will now come with a short comedy sketch featuring Neco Penn and Taiga Sensei. Not really.
