To clarify, there is a 'Drunken Master' (1978), which was Jackie's breakout movie, very great but very Chinese, so maybe a lot of it is Chinese culture-oriented tropes and humor might not land with someone who hasn't been immersed in the style. You'll see the parallels in 'Kill Bill', which Tarantino very much crafted in the style of a 'Shaw Brothers' movie (which Jackie Chan did not star in but did absolutely dominate Hong Kong movies for like 30 years) and 'Kung Fu Panda' which also paid very respectful homage to a lot of Chinese cinema tropes. Then there's 'Legend of Drunken Master' (1994) ('Drunken Master II' in China) which is still a Chinese-oriented production but Chan had honed the style so well over the years it is a masterpiece of its kind. Then there's Stephen Chow, who very skillfully made Chinese movies that integrated American-style humor. I have affection for 'Shaolin Soccer', but his most popular movie is 'Kung Fu Hustle'. I'd say they're best experienced after you've had a good dose of more traditional wuxia like Shaw Brothers stuff to see how much Chow pokes fun at the tropes.
