GENERAL ESPERANZA

Ah... Freedom.

McClane PUNCHES the General in the face, rocking him back into the plane.

Yippee-Kay-Yay, Villagers! It took a bit of time but we are FINALLY getting into Die Hard 2: Die Harder. We got snow, we got Christmas, we got bad guys - and of course, we have John McClane standing in their way. Des was NOT prepared for the puns, over-the-top '90s action, and the cavalcade of actors who pop up in this one!

So get some Eggnog, your security blanket, and curl up with Video Village as we check back in with Bruce Willis's most iconic character.

That's my hardest battle - just in life - trying to keep things brief, whether it's my first draft of a script, a joke, or editing a video ๐Ÿ˜‚ But you're right. I usually try to find another reaction to the movie, then use it as a guidepost. Like, "I need to be at this scene by 10 min in, or 5 min in" etc - but it never lines up perfectly because we all talk about different parts of the film/show. But I am trying to keep all these shorter as I go - if only to make the turnaround process faster. My problem is I love the movies (most of them at least) and try too hard to keep as much of the story/plot in as I can - which as you say is likely a mistake. Appreciate you and your advice as always! ๐Ÿป G

You mentioned being disappointed in the views on Die Hard 2. What does your Youtube analytics say about video engagement? Lots of reactors started with longer videos and quickly started clipping intro rambles and outro discussion down to < 2 minutes, probably because they saw the line graph dipping at those spots. I published one video a long time ago that was an esports match of very minor interest. I clipped the entire 11-minute match and did some editing work on it. I found that the viewers watched the first minute of intro, then fast-forwarded to minute 10 of the match to watch the conclusion. If I had it to do again I'd edit it with a "10 minutes later..." and just jump right to the win. Your Die Hard 2 video is 52 minutes long. Most of the other bigger reactors are 30-35 min long. Try a shorter video and see if it holds engagement longer.
