---
Link is not sure what to think of Ganondorf at the moment. The large cat-hybrid is going after him just like he always does when they finally clash, but something about the way he swipes at him with his wickedly curved claws feels… disingenuous.
As if he is just going through the motions. Is he pulling his punches, maybe?
Link dodges another swipe of one of those huge hands with a backflip and watches Ganondorf with a frown. The large hybrid is breathing heavily; much more than he should at this point in their fight.
His round, fluffy ears are perked on top of his head, visible due to the wonderful braids his mane has been woven into. He does not look sick or feverish. In fact, he seems quite attentive.
Just not… for bloodshed.
His huge tail is swishing behind him, made to look double its size due to the fur standing on end.
“Are you done already?!” he taunts, as if it weren’t obvious that his chest was heaving much more than Link’s.
Link shrugs with one shoulder. He gestures toward his equipment lying a bit to the side: most of his clothes in a heap and a fishing pole discarded in haste on the river bank.
The message is clear: We’re not fighting because of me. I had been working for my meal of the evening.
That seems to annoy Ganondorf. His face hardens somewhat, his tail lashing harder with agitation. He uses the powerful muscles of his thighs to practically catapult himself across the distance separating them, but Link, going with his gut, does not jump aside this time.
Just as he had thought, Ganondorf’s claws are slicing through the air but an inch from his nose.
Link slowly looks up at the huge hybrid. Ganondorf, realizing that he’s made a mistake, slowly straightens up himself, breathing heavily and blocking out the sun with his immense frame.
For a moment there is no sound other than the soft gurgling of the water and the wind rustling the leaves.
Link uses the reprieve to look the large body up and down, his mouth going dry when he sees the large bulge in the front of Ganondorf’s loose harem pants.
Ah. The kitty did not want to fight fight. He wanted to play.
“Tch! Don’t stare like that!” Ganondorf places a sandaled foot square against Link’s chest and kicks him away.
The Hero of Hyrule flies quite a bit before he can catch himself and roll off the ground harmlessly. He rubs his aching chest, frowning harder at Ganondorf. The large cat-hybrid looks more agitated now.
Maybe even embarrassed? Oh… things were starting to become interesting.
The gears in Link’s head start turning. Slowly, he stands back up, a plan formulating in his head.
If Ganondorf wanted to play… he could play. No problem.
But he would make the rules.
