Native language

Just wondering what language everyone speaks as their mother tongue.

I may get TA and other games translated into other languages, as long as it's sought after and depending on the difficulty of the task.

(Apologies to native speakers of languages I didn't include below - I went by the most common languages spoken worldwide according to Google. Also I am aware of various dialects and branches of languages that I didn't include for the sake simplicity)

Anyway, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.

Btw the Portuguese was listed twice.

I sometimes like to consider myself an English person although my native language is Chinese. It is now hard for me to distinguish that which one I'm better at. I use English for almost everything now and I occasionally use Chinese for communicating with family.

Same here, although my native language is German, I much prefer English for gaming and even for reading fiction.

WolfSecret0219

Never been there, but it looks nice. Liechtenstein is still one of the countrys i would like to visit.

Muffin

I've recently been to vaduz. there really isn't much to do there, other than paying 10 euros for ice cream. huh? looks really pretty, tho.

Valentin Köstler

while my native language is not english I also do not want/need a translation honestly.

DDK

Mine is bulgarian but personally I prefer playing games in English because that's what I'm used to

Why don't you just go for community translations/translatables/string tables? Since you're using unity, https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.localization@0.2/manual/index.html :D

Actually somewhat surprised Polish made it onto the list, guess I underestimated how widespread we Poles have become

The Polish

My native language is Luxemburgish, but i speak german, french and english too.

Muffin

Where would you be looking for translators anyway? I was looking into doing it professionally anyway some years ago.

Gürkli

Haha, probably depends on generation. But most people can probably talk or at least understand it fluently.

Lexan

Can't most Swedes speak English better than the natives anyway...?

Pink Tea

Haha I read ”most common languages ”and thought there are still around 20 million Swedish-speaking people. And then I realized that it is fewer than the population of Florida. 😅

Lexan

Having listened to numerous conversations, I can’t help but ponder upon this as well. I would also like to add that it feels as though the proper use of spelling and grammar in written English has declined greatly as a result of multiple different factors.

Kuro Neko

LOL, listening to people talk outside in public, I'm starting to wonder if Correct English is becoming a specialty :-/

HalfBreedMix

Lol right on x3

Good old British English- I guess I write more American-ish though since I write with international standard English in mind. I use American spelling for example just since it's more widely recognized. Still, sometimes phrases like 'it could be worse' make no sense to me...

Pink Tea

What about you Tea? What's your native language? Lol
