Who Is Brethren?

So, I just cleaned Brethren's archive folder, and thought I'd share her old comics with non-archive Patrons, as well as telling you all a bit about her, too.

Brethren has a very small library, 3 full stories, but they're quite meaty! I remember Get Ruined in particular being one of my favourites of all time. I love the stories where I can just switch my brain on autopilot and do whatever.

I'm still undecided about how to present the information about Lore and character backgrounds (the almanac is a good place to start, but it takes a lot of time that I don't exaclty have, right now!) but hopefully I'll figure it out someday soon. - I say this, because Brethren is rooted quite a fair bit in Realms & Void lore - "Realms & Void" being the lore that controls everything in my work.

For laymen, and those who aren't really interested in the lore, Brethren can simply be described as the evil Lee, an evil duplicate of Lee Silhouetter.

The lore, is that Masque Mandela (also known as the Manta Ray) is arguebly the single most powerful entity in the entire multiverse of the Realms & Void, composed of the exhaust fumes of all energy expenditure both negative and positive, but it's her desire and curiosity about mortality, morality and normalcy that makes her emulate pain and suffering as well as provoking people to see what they do.

This complicated confusion she has with the world around her lead her to create Lee, a being she purposefully designed to be older than her, and to be more knowledgable than her, to help Masque understand and digest the world around her.

The Masque Mandela's powers are so vast that the souls which she created as ingrained in history not just across a universe, but the entire muiltiverse. This is because she doesn't just create the soul, she reshapes the entire universe so that the soul has always existed, including their parents and all bloodline that came before them.

Lee is not the only "Masque-created" o "Masque-powered" souls in the Realms and Void, there are many, however; typically, such a hugely powerful creature like Masque Mandela would normally be policed by the heroes of the Void, who seek to balance the multiverse to prevent its collapse - but, as Masque Mandela is composed of positive and negative energy alike, her ability to create reflects that.

"Reflect" being the key word. Every time Masque Mandela uses her powers to create a soul, an opposite soul is created. This doesn't specifically mean "evil", opposite can be interpreted very specifically. Sometimes it can be as extremely simple as a difference in names (such as the Iota sisters Amy and Ivy) but sometimes it can create heroes and their perfect villainous counterparts, the range of difference can often be influenced by the impact or influence that a created soul may have on the Void (example, Destroy of worlds = fixer of worlds, harmless civilian = another harmless civilian).

The big 4 shapeshifters in my original work are Masque Mandela, Lee Silhouetter, Brethren Silhouetter, and Tamy Aran (aka, the Death Bunny). - Tamy, just to confuse things even more, is not a Masque-created entity. She is not Masque's opposite. The reason why Masque and Tamy look almost identical is because Tamy was the first being that Masque Mandela ever saw, and, as Masque has no true appearence, she chose Tamy's. --- That's the irony about Masque bragging about how hot she is, she's actually just complimenting Tamy!

But yeah, you can see what I don't go into the stories or lore too often, can't you? It's all a bit extensive, and certainly on an erotica-front, it's not entirely deployable at the best of times. For a while, I was working on "The Book of Realms And Void", which was like a guide about the lore. I might just finish that, then add it to the archives. So it's more like "it's there, if you're curious", but I think some of the basics are mentioned in my work anyway, so for all I know, the readers might just pick up the lore in drips and drabs, like when my OCs talk about the Realm, the Void, reapers, etc.

I dunno. That's enough waffling for one day! Hope you found it interesting or what have you, feel free to ask me anything or to suggest how it could be deployed, because I'm unsure, as well as a little shy about whether anybody would really find the depths of my stuff interesting. Lord knows.

Anyway, all the best, enjoy those Brethren stories!
