Hi all!


It is time to announce probably the biggest change roundscape ever encountered. We're recreating the complete game in the RPG Maker MV Engine!


Why MV?


While VX Ace uses Ruby, a coding language especially created for RPG maker, the new MV Engine uses JavaScript. Everyone who has some knowledge on coding knows how much of a difference this will make. With JavaScript nearly everything is possible and the first build will show how much it improves the quality of the game.


Here's a list of the biggest changes you will see in the first MV build of Roundscape.



Alright, sadly this also results in some bad news. We'll very likely have no new content this month but on the good side you can expect the first build around the 28th February. We've worked day and night to make this possible and while there's no time left to add the new content the artists and writers have produced  will result in a even bigger content patch in March with over ten new erotic scenes.


We hope you're all excited to play the first Build of roundscape in the MV engine this month and make sure to ask any questions for the game in the comments, we'll make sure answer all your questions if possible.

I am having a bit of trouble. A week ago on the 30th, I had pledged $10 for the month of June and I get an email saying it charged me $40 for the months of January-April and would like to know why and if I can get a refund or something because I did not want to be charged $30 over from what I originally pledged for.

Hope this doesn't impact aesthetics cause if it does-- then that's unacceptable. If you cant make the change and keep the aesthetics as they were or improve them, then as a game developer, you should consider fixing the bugs instead of hoping they go away by changing your engine and possibly alienating the people that got you to where you are now.

Yalllll should get the two last scenes with the farm origin mother done :3 The pictures are their, just need to implement the script. Not the one were you turn her into your whore but the other one where you convince her to quit THEN you convince her to have sex with you to help release her frustration :#

Bad coders in Ruby will remain bad coders in Javascript. This is not going to solve the bugs and crashes and saves that don't work from version to version. If anything, Javascript is worse a language than Ruby for many reasons. Maybe the API with RPG Maker will be better, but that will not solve problems due to bad programming/software design. Entire rewrites are really hard, and they rarely succeed, Good luck.

Hi, i have sent in a request for a key, but nothing have happened within 48 hours!

By default the system only has 'weapon swing' and 'channeling' animation. But depending on the scripts they make/can use, there are a wide range of animation styles they can use.

Will this mean that all of the attacks will be animated as well (maybe as a long term goal)? Considering that one of my favorite characters has an interesting distraction technique..... this would be nice to see.

Is there going to be an option to turn the sprites into full size, real people? It's cool that other people like it, but I have a hard time visualizing a fight when not only are my enemies six feet taller, but my team looks like a group of three years olds.

Actually we're looking into active time bars atm, they can help making agilty a more important stat. Also luck will be changed to Perception.

Wow, you did end up porting over to MV. That would not be an easy task at all. But hopefully everyone agrees when they try the game out that it was worth the change!

Wow, never expected such change. I welcome it, totally espacially the bigger resolution sitting here with a big screen. I can't wait for the combat to test out. Looking forward to it, keep up your good work and im happy to help out =)

Not gonna lie, being able to play this game on a mac would make things 10x easier for me. My PC isn't great and overheats easily. A mac port would make my day.

I like how the MV engine brings back the old style layout like in the original FF games. Little characters on the right and large enemy sprites on the left. I also enjoyed how the MV engine allows for the active time bar for initiative in other rpg maker MV games.

I can already promise that everything will work better than the current builds at least with the second patch including the MV engine. We wouldn't do such a time consuming change if we're not sure that it will work out.

Ah you're right, my mistake. I'm no expert in coding and before roundscape I never was confronted with it but I think that JavaScript is one of the more popular languages, you can find way more resources, tutorials and people who are fond for it which is very helpful while ruby fades away. But as I said i'm no expert.

I'm sorry, I really don't want to crush your thinking about ruby and I really don't like it myself, and how why do you think it was created for VX Ace? <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_(programming_language)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_(programming_language)</a> And JS cannot do anything ruby couldn't do, most probably JS only has more bindings inside RPG Maker. Everybody knows about coding will probably recognize your mistake 😊

....I think more investments are needed. If this keeps up we may have a 3d open world game soon...would be bloody worth it

Yeah, it's a very satisfying feeling when it is actually working inside the new engine and all the possibilites that are now opened are thrilling.

The Chibis or enemy battler are hopefully a temporary solution. The best case scenario would be that both actors and enemies share the same artstyle, I think only under that condition I can see sex attack which is a cool idea. Clothing damage Is a must have at some point but Big Attacks with small "movies" playing is something very unlikely since high quality animation costs a lot of money we should invest in other parts I think but feel free to convince me about it. We've choosen this uncommon resolution especially because of that reason so the artwork won't suffer in quality.

Will the player's team sprites be chibi form as you've displayed here, or will be be increased to something more like the menu form later on? More immersive combat sounds great, and the side aspect has good future potential if you wanted to add clothing damage, sex attacks, "announcing" big attacks anime/manga style etc. Resolution increase is a welcome addition, assuming it doesn't negatively affect the mature artwork. More stability is also good, as is the quality of life changes, hopefully making it easier on both the player as well as you, the developers.

Yes sir just got done doing my own data migration from an indie language to java script and that was a nightmare but that it's done it's like heaven on earth to deal with. I no expect all the cool ideas that me and other fans shoot at you guys to come to life
