Wicked has SUCH specific casting requirements for their leads. Not only obviously do you have to be able to sing and dance these roles 8 shows a week but you have to fit into a specific height for the leads. Fieyero is usually 6ft and taller in recent years because boq has to be under like 5’7 because Glinda has a very specific height requirement because of the bubble. I think the tallest you can be is like 5’7. Could be even shorter. Because she wears heels and the crown in the bubble and she has to fit. And elphaba is usually never shorter than Glinda so you see more taller women playing elphaba. It’s super interesting. Also fun fact Elphabas have to have green nails for their entire contract. So like literally every single day you are wearing green nail polish lol
