2022-12-19 06:41:33 +0000 UTCI really appreciate you guys covering. I went through the New England school system in the 90's and early 2000's. I first heard of King Phillip's war 2 years ago. Most New Englanders know have never heard of it. What makes it worse, there are a lot of museums and re-enactment centers relating to colonial life, but they all tend to leave out why our towns, rivers, and mountains are named after tribes that no longer exist.

2022-12-18 10:59:46 +0000 UTCOoof, the end there saying that this war was what led to America, too real. So I wanted to add another war crime you didn't mention (what a sentence that is), I'm assuming to avoid this being a ten part series: So for context, I live in Littleton, MA now, which was technically incorporated in 1715, but originally began as a "Praying Indian" village in 1645. So what happened to them during King Philip's War? Deportation and concentration camps. Specifically, they and many others were interned on Deer Island near Boston, which was not exactly habitable for all of them. Yet again, converting to the colonists' religion wasn't enough.

2022-12-16 21:16:07 +0000 UTCAlways love colonial American history, thank you for posting! Have you ever thought about doing Kieft’s War from New Amsterdam? It’s a real fascinating story, and there are some real donkeys involved (Kieft was basically the Michael Scott of colonial America).
