BLFC Next Week / Upcoming Changes

Howdy howdy Patrons!

BLFC weekend is coming up next week, and with that one of my biggest challenges I've ever faced; vending at convention!

I've spent the last month mostly dreading this, but as the event is rounding the corner I've been finding myself more and more excited. I'm pumped for this, both because I'm ready to just get into the experience, and.. get back to my regular work.

I have a lot to catch up on still; and once this weekend has passed the stress of this looming challenge will be gone and I'll be able to focus. Regardless of how this con goes, I'll be putting a lot more careful planning on my future endeavors.

Now what's this about changes?

The first big change is: I need to rework how my special commission slot tiers work once again. As some of you may have seen on twitter; I am changing how I am doing my Pay What You Want style commissions as that long experiment is essentially now over, and I have a better grasp on my ability and more importantly, an understanding that I need to ensure I'm not overworking myself.

That being said: Once I get back from BLFC I am going to be reworking the higher tiers once again, and manually removing the Patrons who hold those slots. Any previously obtained 'time' from the old tiers that has not been completed yet is still logged: And I have that on a spread sheet. So no worries to you guys, I will still be filling out my obligations to you.

However I do need to reset the tiers, and I don't just want to collect more money while I do so; as the tiers are honestly going to be changing quite a bit. Mostly going up in price (but so is the reward).
Once the tiers are completed; I will send the people who formerly held those tiers direct messages here on Patreon about obtaining those slots again when they officially relaunch on June 1st.
Second: Discord changes
As some of you may have noticed, there is no longer a listed discord related reward on any of the tiers. I have removed this myself, and will be handling discord connectivity manually from now on.

The reason I am doing this is because I have been told and have also experienced myself that Patreon's discord bot automatically re-adds people to servers at the beginning of every month even if they have left on their own accord.

This is a bit annoying because I understand completely, sometimes big groups just around for you - and it also doesn't help if every creator you are supporting has this kind of feature and you find yourself in dozens or more of servers. It gets pretty daunting.

So, as I have said I have removed the bot and will be handling everything with my server manually. While this adds more work for me - it's honestly going to keep me more involved too. So I see it more as a win than a loss.

I also took the liberty to message Patreon support about possibly adding in an opt-in/opt-out feature for discord roles.

When I rework the upper tier rewards, I will be adding to the standard support tiers notes about inquiring about joining my server in the future.
