The shenanigans continue

churning on with the encounter with the law pin-up series.

I have been a little bit distracted as I'm basically doing full-time shifts at work now with my boss still away on vacation, and all the remaining co-workers are students that are starting school....

And a close family member just went o the hospital due to chest pains, they are up in their age and had a stroke like many years ago and have struggled since with several surgeries, so I'm a bit stressed about that.

had some time off yesterday as the drunk D&D group finally landed in a date where we're enough players to play. And the session was a absolute cluster fuck, we where tasked with rescuing a expedition that's far away. We decided that taking dog sleds and direct route to the closest town of the cairn was the best, as in theory that'd only take us 12 hours...

It took us 34 hours thanks to an avalanche, wolves, and bad weather that messed up our survival checks, which at best two players have a +3 in that skill...

we had two sleds, each Goliath in one and the rest spread. And we failed so many checks and had to backtrack, and the dogs needed rest, which... We're 5 characters and only have 2 tents that can fit two people... Cause one player decided his character didn't need a tent. He's fucking Bear Gryllis having the Soldier Background and trained in Survival, which, mind you is a +3. He was absolute sure hat he could make a snow den and cover it with his winter cloak, which... sure sure... But we're mostly traveling on the ice... There is no snow to den.

So while the rest of us was in the tents and didn't need to do the cold weather Constitution Saving Throws, he had to and of course he failed them and we found him near dead on the ice later, having 5 of 6 levels in Exhaustion, and if the get the 5th level he dies. So we had to take a long rest, where my character had to sacrifice my tent spot for him. Luckily I'm a Goliath, so I do less Con saves and in the end I ended up with the same amount of Exhaustion as I had before the long rest.

The session ended with us finally reaching the town, but we had to burrito the Soldier in both Goliath's winter clothes for him to survive the last hour. SO that rescue party is looking real rough with 2 character having 5 levels of Exhaustion, two with 3 levels and I got 2. Which goes away one level at a time per long rest, so we are going to need 5 days of rest unless we can find a spell caster...

But it was fun, we had plenty to drink, bbq and chocolate cookies so the session was a blast despite a few heated discussions haha
