Bit of an explanation for the monster design, it was created by a 9 year old winner of a children's BBC competition. This episode is also considered a "Doctor Lite" episode due to his lack of screen time (which is a filming compromise I think). BUT! I can guarantee you guys will enjoy the next "Doctor Lite" episode.
