Rhodiola Rosea (Golden Root) - Stress prevention / The basic adaptogen for powerlifters
Added 2020-01-19 15:51:02 +0000 UTCRhodiola Rosea is a herb that grows naturally in North America, Asia, and the Arctic regions of Europe. It is widely used in the traditional medicine of China, Russia, and Scandinavia. It has potent abilities to: prevent stress and anxiety, fight fatigue, improve brain functions (nootropic effect), and promote neurotransmitter homeostasis. Furthermore, Rhodiola Rosea helps adapt to stress-inducing environment, boosts immune system function (which has made Rhodiola very popular in northern Russia and Scandinavia), reduces inflammation, and increases energy levels and well-being (can elevate both dopamine and serotonin).

Rhodiola Rosea is also a perfect supplement for athletes under constant stress induced by intense workout regimen (especially powerlifters). Its stress-reducing abilities helps the organism to adapt to stress caused by lifting heavy, CNS-straining weights and intensive workout routine. Additionally, regular supplementation of this herb firmly improves the central nervous system's recovery (essential in powerlifting), delays physical and mental fatigue, and improves exercise performance (multiple studies have confirmed its positive influence on aerobic endurance).
Dosing:
Rhodiola Rosea should always be supplemented on an empty stomach in dosages of 200-500mg (a single portion, once daily, best in the morning due to its slightly stimulating effect).
In order to only improve endurance, dosages of 200-300mg one hour before a training session will be optimal.
However, as it's a highly potent anti-inflammatory herb, remember to use it with an interval between resistance training! Inflammations induced during a training session are necessary to trigger processes standing for supercompensation. Since antioxidants prevent them from occurring, a training session will become less effective once taken nearby it (4-5h interval suffices).
Rhodiola Rosea in standard dosages should not induce any adverse effects. Human body tolerates it very well.
