The placement of her left hand in panel 1 was entirely by accident. I was amused and vexed by it. Amused that it had happened. And vexed that it hadn't been on purpose. Such is making art.
ROW ONE
Panel 1 – On the sofa in the art studio
Brian: I never thought this day would come. You are even prettier in person.
Stacy: You spent a lot of time near me as when I was a statue. What do you want?
Brian: It's my fault you spent so much time as a statue. I want to make it up to you. You'll need clothes. I'll buy them. No strings attached.
Panel 2
Stacy: This is all temporary. I don't really need many clothes.
Brian: Temporary?
Stacy: She didn’t tell you?
Brian: That you were a man?
Panel 3
Brian: I’m sorry. I shouldn’t laugh. She did tell me. Your friend Reggie didn’t know whether he should mention it or not. But I already knew.
Stacy: I’m changing back in a week. I have no need for a whole wardrobe.
Brian: That’s fine. Still need clothes for a week. As I said, no strings.
Panel 4
Brian: But, I hope you won’t mind going with me to dinner, perhaps some dancing. There’s no obligation implied or expected.
Stacy: You want to go on a date with me?
Brian: Is that a yes?
ROW TWO
Panel 1 – Across the art studio
Narration: Meanwhile
Noriko: Why haven’t you told her?
Meredith: I alluded to it. She isn’t ready for how long she really has to wait.
Noriko: That isn’t for you to decide.
Panel 2
Meredith: I can’t tell her she can’t be a statue again for at least six months. It’s too soon.
Noriko: And you can only restore her by recarving her.
Meredith: It won’t be a problem. I’m hoping Brian can distract her.
Panel 3 – walking toward the other two
Noriko: No way. She won’t date him.
Meredith: Wanna bet?
