RENDER - June 2025 Roundup
Added 2025-06-01 04:00:06 +0000 UTCI really don't have much at all for this roundup. So I dug up some images from the abandoned Djinni Island AVN that were going to be low-fi animations done in Ren'py and not actual MOV or AVI or MPEG files. They are presented here as WEBP files. I hope they animate for you. If you can't see the animations let me know in a comment here and I'll see about fixing it. (Or I'll just post the individual files and you can see the animation in your mind. :) )
Gildi Yaps
First up, we have the disclaimer section of the game where another character is talking and good ole' Gildi is doing a yap yap yap yap animation. It's terrible. I did this 5 months ago. (I said I didn't have much for this roundup.) I think the head tilt to her right (our left) and lips attempting to say "yap" works. The other direction is head scratching.
Eagle eyed folks will recognize Meredith in the background just to Gildi's left in the picture on the wall. Her name is Julia in the AVN.

Sheryl Hugs
This one is an overly enthusiastic guest arriving at Djinni Island and giving a big hug to an unsuspecting greeter. Why didn't she hug either of the men? Presumably she did that before takeoff as they are the pilots of the plane. They did get a good laugh at it. I believe there was a "putting her down" render but I can't find it.
Sheryl has also been reused in the web comics. You'll meet her soon in Statue Rentals. Though, she's shorter in her new form.

I should probably retire this. Most renders recently have been for future comics.
Schedule
While I'm here, may as well talk about story scheduling.
Show And Tell started yesterday. It's five parts. Each part has a render in it. Show and Tell was stated around the same time as another story that I haven't finished and now will be holding back for several months as both stories explore time lost while inanimate.
Tuesday doesn't have a render, preview teasers weren't ready and Show and Tell already started. So it has one of my short short stories. Arbitrarily this means less than 1000 words. But, in this case, 965 words barely slips under that threshold. Story is called Magic Shoppe: Model Student and it actually introduces a new denizen of the Shoppe and someone who actually knows the Proprietor personally.
After Show and Tell, there's a one off story Dumpster Dolly. It's an experiment. I hope it works.
And then there's an eight part story: Sold. I'll talk more about that in July when it's due to release soon. The short version of that is "I thought Sold would be two short parts." It grew. Sold is a whopping 32k words. Only the three novels and the Ravenous Libido story are longer. More on this later.
After that, it will be September where all four weeks are accounted for, including a Tom and Susan Trust Machines story. Hopefully, Season 5 of Ted's Dolls will be ready come October, but it isn't looking good yet. I'm barely more than 10% done with that writing.
And in this same time period, there will be six Little Witch comics and six Statue Rental comics. (And if I'm feeling it, two comics of another property that I will be doing as single panel comics, or die trying.)
Bonus
I'm feeling generous, or guilty. You pick. Here's a bonus image from Statue Rentals #22. That comic is scheduled for June 6, 2026, only one year early. As I've said before. I might need to rethink how I'm releasing these things.
Enjoy. Comments welcome. And all that.
